Throwing a Quick, Easy, and Affordable Baby Shower

This sweet shower was for two of my favorite gals and their soon to be baby boys. Our friend group decided it would be fun to throw them a quick, sweet little shower and it was absolutely perfect.

Here are a couple of items that make throwing a shower easy peasy.

Use Drinks as Decor

Buy “cute drinks”, and use them as decor. Some of my favorite drinks to buy are lemonades, and seltzer water. You can decorate the table in an easy and cute way.

Greenery

Trader Joes is my favorite when it comes to greenery. You can purchase flowers and greenery for under $5 a bundle. You don’t have to be a florist to put together cute arrangements. You can also cut greenery from your yard or a local park. You can also make DIY garland from their greenery. Check out my DIY garland here. Ive even been known to find bushes on the side of the road and use whatever I have in the car to cut it down. Yup, I am the crazy lady you see picking road side flowers.

Use Baby Gift as Decor

We purchased the girls two sets of onesies from Target. I used yarn to hang them on the fireplace.

Everyone Bring a Dessert

We had everyone bring some kind of dessert. Who doesn’t love an array of desserts. This keeps the cost down and all the responsibility doesn’t lie on one person.

Pitch in for a Gift

We all pitched in and bought the mamas prenatal massages, but you could also pitch in and purchase a larger item like a stroller, carseat, or crib. Since both ladies already had most of what they needed, we thought treating the mamas would be special.

Purchase Games and Cards on Etsy

Etsy has cheap downloadable games and well wish cards. Instead of spending a lot on preparing gifts, purchase games, download and print the games.

Chalkboards

I have a thing for collecting chalkboards, but you can use these universally for parties and get togethers.

Paper Runner

Use paper rolls as a runner. Home Depot has large rolls, small rolls, and white rolls of paper for painting. They are all under $15 and you can use them as table cloths or runners. Its a cheap and easy way to make the tables look pretty!
