Life with three kids keeps me busy. Extra tasks, like filing my taxes has always added more stress to our busy lives. Orange County United Way’s OC Free Tax Prep Program makes filing taxes easy!
Orange County United Way, a local nonprofit, is offering a free virtual tax filing service!
This new virtual service is an extension of the services they were providing in-person prior to COVID-19 through the nonprofit’s OC Free Tax Prep program.
Through the new virtual service, the same IRS-Certified Volunteer Tax Preparers that were preparing tax returns in-person are now able to help virtually.
HOW IT WORKS:
▶ Answer simple questions
▶ Take photos of your ID, W-2 form(s), and/or 1099 form(s)
▶ Upload those photos to a secure portal
▶ Schedule a call with the tax preparer to discuss your situation
▶ The tax preparer fills out your tax forms to help you get the maximum refund
▶ The tax preparer calls you to review the results
▶ You review and approve the tax return
▶ The tax preparer electronically files your return
Orange County United Way’s OC Free Tax Prep team is committed to helping local families get access to free tax preparation services and to get the maximum refund by helping taxpayers claim any tax credits they are eligible to claim, including the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC).
The tax deadline is July 15th. You can get started or learn more at OCFreeTaxPrep.com. You can also call United Way’s tax hotline at 888-434-8248.
