I love a good DIY Mother’s Day Gift! And what mom doesn’t love a heartfelt DIY? We are doing this for my mom and my husbands mom as well. This project cost a total of $20 and is the cutest ever!
What you’ll need:
8×10 Frame

Canva or Pic Monkey
Step One:
Have your kids come up with words that describe mom or grandma. We chose words like “kind”, “silly”, “beautiful”. I try not to guide them too much, because they come up with some fun adjectives on their own. One of my favorites was “popular”.
Step Two:
Write the words on the boards. My kids are young, so I wrote them. I love these chalk pencils because I can write larger words. A trick to pretty writing is writing in all caps and making sure the top and bottom of each letter is the same height!
Step Three:
We dressed our kids in similar color schemes to keep the photos looking cohesive. Find a blank background (we chose this white wall), and take photos of your kids with each of the boards. We did 6 photos total (2 for each of my kids). Tip: Try and keep the photos the same by having the kids stand in the same spot and taking the photo from the same spot each time.
Step Four:
After you have taken all the photos, you can filter or brighten them using pic monkey or using your IPhone or android to brighten and up the contrast on your photos.
Step Five:
Put the collage together. I use this app Collage . Choose the 3:4 ratio.
Find the 6 Frame Collage Template.
Input your photos
Save the photo to your camera role.
Step Six:
Open your Canva or Pic monkey app and add text to your photo. You’ll upload the photo you saved and add the text. You can write Mom is… or Grandma is
Step Seven:
Print your photo! I use Walmart 24 hour photo center. But you can use your own printing method. You’ll want to print your photo at a 8×10 size to fit in your frame.
Step Eight:
Put the Photo in your frame and there you have it. The perfect DIY Mother’s Day gift. Your Mom is going to love this heartfelt gift!
