So it’s THAT time of year again. Yes, Christmas card time. And for all of you “stay at home mommers” like me, you know that trying to fit this in between baths, diaper changes, meal prep, shopping, {fill in the blank}, & all other to do’s, this is near impossible. So I am up bright and early this morning. At first thought of this plan, I was dreading the sound of my alarm, and then when six something rolled around this morning, I crawled out of bed, poured myself a cup of energy, and took out the pen. I looked around, heard nothing, saw only the light glimmering through my shutters and the twinkle of my tree, and thought “okay, this is nice.. I should do this more often”. Peace. How we all crave it once in a while. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sound of my boys laughing, playing, and discovering new things, but man… do I love and need Peace. & then I got really excited because I remembered I would get to use my new toy. Let me explain.
A few weeks ago as I was ordering from my favorite site Pear Tree Greetings. If you have never heard of them, check them out!! I order all my holiday cards, birthday invitations, and announcements through them. I love the personalized touch the designers give and for a reasonable price. I started thinking about how cute my cards were going to be, and how I always dread my Christmas cards because my hand gets tired half way through writing them from trying to be so precise, and how a third of the way through they start looking like my 2 year old wrote them. Then I remembered something my mom had shown me a few weeks back. Its called Letter Mate. It’s only $10- and is worth every penny. I just started trying to learn more hand lettering techniques and am trying to improve my cursive, but I will and always will have a hard time writing in a straight line. For those of you perfectionists out there, you know this is not ideal. Well, this item fixes all my OCD problems. It helps keep everything centered and aligned.. and all in a straight line. I am in Love people. Also- I ordered it and it came in the mail a few days later. I think this may be my Christmas gift to all of my family & friends. Shhh….
