Valentine (at home) Date Night Ideas

Simple and Easy Ways to Enjoy Valentines Day with your Loved One At Home

We have two little ones under 4, which means getting out for a date night, especially on Valentines hasn’t been in the cards for us in a few years. Even though “going out” isn’t an option, we try and make a point to enjoy time together in different ways. Iv’e gathered a couple of my favorite (after the kids go to bed) activities you and your love one can do to celebrate Valentines together and make it a special night even with the kiddos asleep in the room next door.

Romantic Table for Two Dinner

This one is easy. Grab some candles, your nice dishes, some wine, and cook up a tasty meal for the two of you. Feed the kids early, get them into bed, and enjoy a peaceful dinner with adult only conversation, and no interruptions.

Breakfast in Bed

Before the kids wake up, make some sweet heart shaped pancakes, and enjoy coffee, and conversation before the crazy day ahead. It’s amazing what a little quality time can do for our souls.

Indoor Picnic

Set up a blanket in the living room (next to the fireplace if you have one) or play the Fire Place Video and enjoy a romantic night eating some of your favorite snack items together. Maybe pick up some chocolate covered strawberries and favorite wine to pair.

Take out Chinese and Movie Night

What romantic movie doesn’t have a take-out Chinese food scene. Pick up your favorite local Chinese food and light the candles. Curl up on the couch and enjoy your meal kidless, and in each others arms.

Love Movies and Champagne

I’ m probably one of the few women who has a husband who loves a good “chick flick”, (don’t tell him I told ya k 😉 ) Take some time to cuddle up and enjoy your favorite champagne while watching a sweet love story.

At Home Sweets and Conversation

Gather His or Her favorite snacks and make up some question cards that each of you have to answer as you snack and enjoy each others conversation. There is something so “sweet” about getting to know your loved one better… even if you feel like you know everything about them.

Game Night for Two

Pick up your favorite board games, or play an oldie like Monopoly or Scrabble. This lighthearted activity can be the perfect way to spend a stressless night laughing and just being with one another.

Here are some great date night game ideas!

Although most of these activities are simple and obvious, sometimes, we give up thinking we can’t have nights together when we have young kids. I hope you feel encouraged to try out a “Date Night” at home together. Tuck those sweet kids into bed early and enjoy some uninterrupted time with your loved one.

Happy Valentines!!!
