I’m officially celebrating One Year on this blogging/small buisness journey of mine. It’s crazy because in some ways I feel like I have come further than I ever thought I would, and in the same way, I feel like I still have so much more to learn and so much further I want to go.
Despite how far I want to go, or the dreams I have for my small business, I am so grateful for the people I have met and the experiences I have had this last year.
This year I started multiple new adventures in this Creative Industry, my Etsy shop being one of them. This little shop of mine has grown and is keeping me more busy every day. What started as a Sign Shop quickly grew into something else. These sweet little shelves of mine have surprised me more than anything. And it all started with a DIY blog post, turns out people wanted to buy them too. Crazy.
I had no idea they would sell the way that they have, or that people would actually be interested in something that I made. Now over 300 people have my shelves in their homes across the US, they have sold on sites like Jane.com, Brickyard Buffalo, and have been published in Pursuit Community Magazine as a TOP 10 gift of the year. I can’t explain the feeling I get when I think about how much people have supported this small business of mine.
All this to say, one little idea opened up so many doors and I am so very thankful for the opportunities I have had with these little DIY shelves of mine.
My blog has been my favorite creative outlets. I love sharing ideas, and hopefully inspiring others to create and continue to inspire the people around them. I’m a huge advocate for helping people create their Dream Home on their OWN budget. For years I thought I couldn’t because we simply didn’t have the money. I want to inspire people to think outside the box and empower them to create and love the home they have.
This coming year I have challenged myself to put more effort into staying connected here. I hope this inspires you to take a leap of faith with the areas of life that you are interested in. Sometimes we surprise ourselves when we have a little faith in who we are, and what we love.
My Interior Decorating has been in the works the last couple of months, and Ive started working with multiple clients, some homes, salons, and our own home church. As much as I love being a Maker, and blogging about my home and all of my projects, the long term goal has always been Interior Design. I love everything about it. Im hoping to launch some workshops, both in person and online to encourage you all in your own projects and help with styling tips as well. If you are interested in hearing more about the services I offer, I would love to hear from you.
As the end of the year approaches, I just want to THANK you all. This journey has been such an exciting one and I love that so many of you have been apart of that. I can’t wait to see what this next year holds, and where I will be a year from now. But today, Im here and now and saying I couldn’t have done all that I have without all of you. So thank you and Merry Christmas to you all.
~Happy Holidays
