A Bright White Change

Okay I admit, I have neutral fever. I love love my blue, but I have been contemplating taking the neutral route for a while now and creating a more earthy farmhouse feel in our home. One of my favorite things to do is find old furniture, paint, restore, and give the piece new life. Chalk paint is one of the easiest ways to do just that. If you have any furniture that you are thinking about chalk painting, check out my post on my favorite chalk painting projects and favorite brands to work with.

One of my favorite things to do is thrift shop for old items that might give my home an old farmhouse look. I found these chair at our local Goodwill for $5 a piece. Yup $15 for all three. I knew I would chalk paint them one day, but I couldn’t decide the color or type of chalk paint I would use.

I had a can of Milk Paint from General Finishes called “Snow White”. I knew it would be the perfect color to choose because my dad had painted the base of my table with the same color.

I am so happy with the results of this project. It lightens the dining rooms and brings more of that farmhouse charm I was looking for.

If you are itching to chalk paint furniture in your home… just do it. I always feel nervous before jumping into the task and am beyond happy EVERY SINGLE TIME. Why don’t I just listen to myself more often.
